Yang Hu, courtesy name Shuzi, was a famous military general in the Jin dynasty of China.
羊祜镇守襄阳，仁义爱民，信义化敌，深得百姓爱戴。
Stationed at Xiangyang for ten years, Yang Hu loved his people and won the respect from the people and even his enemies with his personal charm.
戎马之余，羊祜爱上了襄阳山水。“每风景，必造岘山，置酒言咏，终日不倦”
Yang Hu loved Xiangyang's beautiful landscape. He often visited Mountain Xian and wrote many poems to express his love to this land.

Crown Prince Zhaoming
中国第一部诗文总集《昭明文选》编撰者。
Complier of the Wen Xuan (also called Selections of Refined Literature) ̶ one of the earliest anthologies of Chinese poetry and literature.
肖统，生于襄阳，梁朝文学家，为梁武帝肖衍长子，史称昭明太子。
Xiao Tong, the Prince Zhaoming, was born in Xiangyang. He was the oldest son of Emperor Wu of Liang.
昭明太子倾其毕生精力，编成《昭明文选》，是中国现存最早的大型诗文总集。
The Prince Zhaoming devoted his life to compiling the Wen Xuan, the earliest literary compendium of early Classical Chinese poetry.
《昭明文选》对后世影响深远，成为千百年来世人学习文章的“圣经”，素有“文选烂，秀才半”之美誉。
The Wen Xuan has a profound influence on later generations. It had been a must-read for all the young men in preparation for literary examinations by the early 8th century.
襄阳人为纪念昭明太子，在襄阳古城正中央建立昭明台，距今已有一千多年历史吧。

A famous landscape poet in the Tang dynasty
孟浩然，襄阳人，唐代大诗人，与王维并称“王孟”，联袂缔造中国山水田园诗派之巅峰。
Meng Haoran, born in Xiangyang, is often mentioned with Wang Wei, due to their prominence as landscape poets.
孟浩然，世居涧南园，终身未仕途，徜徉襄山汉水间，歌咏襄阳诗篇近200篇，脍炙人口，天下传唱。
Instead of pursuing an official career, Meng Haoran spent most of his life in Xiangyang and wrote about 200 poems to praise the beauty of his hometown.
从来没有哪一位大诗人，能将襄阳山水描摹得如此深情动人，世人爱之深切，以城之名为止加冕，世称“孟襄阳”。
No poet has ever described Xiangyang landscape so vivid and touching like him. People loved his poems so much that they call him by the name of the city - "Meng Xiangyang".
